…beach wedding. I’ve been to a wedding on the beach, but never one where the bride and groom later arrive on their boat. It was a perfect day for a wedding!

Congrats to Trent and Stacy!

I spent most of high school counting down the days until I could get out of there, but in the end, it’s still nice to go home once in a while. After church, my mom thought it would be nice to take a stroll on the Boardwalk, but it was so cold and windy that our walk only lasted until 9th street (we parked on 5th street).

We also only saw one surfer brave enough to take on the cold…the boardwalk was pretty empty too. Still, it’s nice to leave the city sometimes and return to a slower pace.

Going to weddings, in particular the ones for your friends from high school, can make you feel old. As Andrew said, “You’ve reached the hump and it’s all downhill from there”. Coupled with the fact that just recently married friend is also going to have a baby (yay for the baby boy!) makes me as the friend that isn’t married or pregnant feel doubly old. When I finally do have kids, I keep thinking that I’ll be known as the old mom at the playground.

The one thing that has kept me sane at all the many weddings is seeing the fun grooms’ cakes. This one from Brenda and Tucker’s wedding looks like a diver’s helmet. The brown helmet part was yummy! The wedding wasn’t so bad either ;)

I now know how I will be spending the rest of my late 20s – going to an endless parade of weddings. So far, Ricky’s and Jessica’s wedding has had the best groom’s cake. What other type of cake would a bodyboarder get anyway? In 2 weeks, I’ll be back to Virginia for wedding number 3. They should give out frequent gift buyer points at the stores people register for – for every 5 gifts I buy, the store should be giving me a gift.

… the beach! And it’s not a bad place for lovers either.
