I have a double bed futon for free. You just have to come pick it up. I’ve already tried to give it to the Salvation Army who won’t take it.
Me: “Hi, I have a futon, television, and several bags of clothing to donate.”
Them: “We don’t take futons. How old is the tv?”
Me: “It’s about 10 years old.”
Them: “Yeah, we only take TVs less than 2 years old. And then the bags of clothing are too small to pick up.”
Me” “Alright…thanks.”
The Catholic Charities won’t take anything either (though they have a good excuse in that they don’t have a driver) :(
I’m just trying to help people! Someone take these things away! They’re all free!

Yes, I should post an update. I did post to Craigslist and 2 guys who moved to Crown Heights ended up taking not just the futon, but our TV and lamp too!

Futon Company
At least the futon was put to use, hate to see them thrown away. Here in the UK people buy futon beds for many reasons, for many it’s all about making best use of available space, for others it’s all about style and the futon is used in the same way as a traditional sofa.
