Apparently there’s a new racial term going around for black people; new code word – Canadian. The crazy people in the South are using “Canadian” to hide their racist remarks about black people. As a girlfriend of a former Canadian (he’s now an American; go USA!) and a former resident of Virginia (below the Mason Dixon line), I am a bit bemused. Hey my name is Zech and I live in Southeast Texas. Where I live it is very racist but more so in a black community. The college I attend has more black people than it does white (approx 48% are black & 37% are white) so we adopted the word Canadian not as a racist word but so we wouldn’t be called racist for saying the describing words like “Africans” “African Americans” or even “Blacks” in public. We use the word because it’s a less confrontational word. As if you were to say that “it was a black guy that did it” when there are alot of black people around you, saying the word black brings more attention to yourself pointing out a black man and being racist, it’s an akward position to be in. Whereas if you said it was a Canadian or he was from Canada it would be more disguised and not that noticeable to a black person bc not everyone would point out that word that’s not in your conversation.

That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. How in gods name could you racist southern Americans associate “black man” to Canadian?? like hooowwww, whyyyy, what sense does it make????????
